Testimonials

“We worked alongside Clay Simmons starting in about November of 2021. We met him when we called Tom Smith inquiring about a house we wanted to see and Clay happened to already be at the location. Despite not having scheduled an appointment, Clay showed us the house and we quickly decided we wanted to hire him as our realtor. We had just moved back to Mississippi after living in Florida for four years and were seeking a house to purchase before the arrival of our first child which was five months away. Clay worked tirelessly to ensure we found the best place for us in enough time. He was very communicative, always responding to our many questions. If he did not know an answer, he found someone who did. He made himself available to us, showing us homes, talking with us via phone and text message, and getting us in contact with appropriate lenders and resources. Our search was made difficult due to our very specific requirements for location and space, but Clay was diligent and hardworking in order to help us find something within our budget. Our experience with Clay was phenomenal and we would definitely recommend him to any other families who are searching for the perfect home. In addition, we would definitely work with him again in the future if and when we decided to move.” Justin & Samantha W. “Christy and I would like to commend Ellen Smith for her customer service during our recent home sale in Madison county and subsequent home purchase in Rankin county. She was able to avoid the pitfalls and maintain her cool in what turned out to be a difficult market. Her professionalism and industry knowledge kept us on track in a tight schedule and her follow up after the sale showed she was really concerned for her clients. We would recommend Ellen to anyone on their future real estate sale or purchase.” Christy and Dennis J. “Having had the recent pleasure of selling my land and old farmhouse through your agency, I would like to give a special compliment to Bill Patrick, my realtor.  The selling process was admittedly a bit arduous, and, despite disagreements between my sister and myself, Bill remained a calm and neutral party who tried to accommodate us both while juggling negotiations with multiple potential buyers. He provided us with much of his time, not to mention sharing his extensive knowledge of the business, which we put to the test. I know he must have felt frustrations of his own, but he upheld his professionalism under pressure, and this left a positive impression on me which I wanted to impart to you. I have since recommended him and your agency to more than one acquaintance searching for a realtor. I would like to add another special “thank you” to you, Tom, for your extra efforts to provide me with an informed selling experience when difficult situations arose outside of Bill’s areas of expertise, and I felt uncertain about my options. You made me feel like my concerns were important to you personally, and from that I was able to proceed feeling supported when confidence in my decisions was lacking.” Christie J. “The morning of July 2nd, 2021, was when I saw a Facebook post by Bruce West, whom I had known for many years and worked with in the Emmaus Walk Ministry, saying that he had changed careers, was now a Realtor, and if anyone needed to buy or sell property, he’d be glad to talk to them about representation. I texted him that I was indeed interested in selling my home at Brownspur.  Bruce and Gwendolyn lived about ten miles south of me in Hollandale, just down the street from my brother Beau. He called back that afternoon and made an appointment to come by Monday to look at my homestead, which consisted of a big two-story 1898 Plantation Home, with nearly 6000 sq. ft. under roof and an 1800 sq. ft. guest house connected by a covered walkway, all on six acres, including an old-fashioned sand-bottomed Swimming Hole with a shooting range behind it. Betsy and I had listed Brownspur several times in the past few years after all our kids got out from underfoot, intending to move to smaller quarters in our Golden Years, but had never gotten a serious offer.  She had passed away suddenly the week after our 55th Anniversary, six months before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. I viewed that as an opportunity to catch it and die, to go be with Betsy, so had done absolutely nothing to the house and yard in over two years since her death.  Bruce advised me to go with a “Buy-As-Is” approach, and we signed an agreement for representation Tuesday morning. He e-mailed me Thursday morning that he was showing it to a couple at 5:30 that afternoon.  Monday morning he called to say that he had an offer, so I met him early Tuesday.  The couple had offered less than we had listed it for, but three other people had contacted him over the weekend to say they were interested in looking at Brownspur.  What did I want to do? "Let’s make them a counter-offer, halfway the difference,” I suggested.  He nodded and dialed where we stood in the parking lot of the Double Quik gas station in Leland. He never got off the phone: “They took it,” he exclaimed! I had no idea how much paperwork was involved by so many parties from North Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee, to Leland, Greenwood, Cleveland, Brownspur, to Sumner where I now live, re-married to Cindy, Betsy’s former Ole Miss roommate.  Bruce took care of dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s, thank the Lord. We closed on August 24th. What a fantastic experience it was, selling my home on the plantation I’d grown up on for 77 years, through my Realtor and Friend, Bruce West!Robert N. “My wife and I have had the pleasure of working with Colby to find a piece of land for purchase. He's been an absolute pleasure to work with. He communicates well and does everything he can to find exactly what folks are looking for. Our journey hasn't been without issue, my fault and nothing to do with Colby, but he just rolled with it and found the property that was right for us.” Vic M.
