Testimonials

“Ellen Smith was a tremendous advocate for us during our home buying process. We’re on our second and third transaction using TSLH. Ellen was an excellent communicator and answered every question promptly and professionally. She was thorough and thought of most things before I did. Her customer service is great!!” C. Young “We worked alongside Clay Simmons starting in about November of 2021. We met him when we called Tom Smith inquiring about a house we wanted to see and Clay happened to already be at the location. Despite not having scheduled an appointment, Clay showed us the house and we quickly decided we wanted to hire him as our realtor. We had just moved back to Mississippi after living in Florida for four years and were seeking a house to purchase before the arrival of our first child which was five months away. Clay worked tirelessly to ensure we found the best place for us in enough time. He was very communicative, always responding to our many questions. If he did not know an answer, he found someone who did. He made himself available to us, showing us homes, talking with us via phone and text message, and getting us in contact with appropriate lenders and resources. Our search was made difficult due to our very specific requirements for location and space, but Clay was diligent and hardworking in order to help us find something within our budget. Our experience with Clay was phenomenal and we would definitely recommend him to any other families who are searching for the perfect home. In addition, we would definitely work with him again in the future if and when we decided to move.” Justin & Samantha W. “If you’re looking to buy or sell we couldn’t think of anyone better than Anthony Steen! From day one he was dedicated to helping us find the perfect home for our family. Anthony is patient and will listen to your every want and need, and will be determined to find exactly what you’re looking for, with no hassle. He spends quality time with his customers, and he is right there with you, every step of the way! If you’re in the market, do yourself a favor, and call him!” Maranda & Chase B.

I am pleased and honored to share my experience with Tom Smith Land and Homes. If you feel the time is right to sell your 'piece of heaven' call Tom Smith. Period. After enjoying our property in Holmes County for 18 years, the time had come to move in another direction. I contacted friends who all recommended Tom for the job. I called Tom about listing my property. He met me on site and came prepared to take photos and notes. Tom and I talked candidly about values. I like that. He was honest and straightforward. Within 2 weeks, my property was featured on his email blast. When I received his email blast, I called him and said my place looked so good, I didn't want to sell it anymore. Selling your place can be a difficult decision. Tom understands the connection we make to our property. I had an offer to purchase within 3 weeks of listing the property with Tom. It became apparent to me that Tom has a list of buyers looking for property. He knows how to get it done and sell your property fast. Speaking of fast. Tom introduced the buyers to me and today, we have a great relationship. I am so pleased to know that the new owners of my 'piece of heaven' are enjoying it as much as I did and are providing stewardship the property deserves. Tom sold my property so fast, I asked the new owners if I could plant their food plots for the fall hunting season as I had already purchased the seed and was not expecting the sale so quickly. The bottom line? When Robert and Rebecca Watson have property to sell, there will be only one person I call and it's Tom Smith. I highly recommend Tom Smith to sell or purchase property anywhere in Mississippi. As I write this, Tom has me on the buyers list looking for my next project. Call Tom Smith, you won't regret it.

“The morning of July 2nd, 2021, was when I saw a Facebook post by Bruce West, whom I had known for many years and worked with in the Emmaus Walk Ministry, saying that he had changed careers, was now a Realtor, and if anyone needed to buy or sell property, he’d be glad to talk to them about representation. I texted him that I was indeed interested in selling my home at Brownspur.  Bruce and Gwendolyn lived about ten miles south of me in Hollandale, just down the street from my brother Beau. He called back that afternoon and made an appointment to come by Monday to look at my homestead, which consisted of a big two-story 1898 Plantation Home, with nearly 6000 sq. ft. under roof and an 1800 sq. ft. guest house connected by a covered walkway, all on six acres, including an old-fashioned sand-bottomed Swimming Hole with a shooting range behind it. Betsy and I had listed Brownspur several times in the past few years after all our kids got out from underfoot, intending to move to smaller quarters in our Golden Years, but had never gotten a serious offer.  She had passed away suddenly the week after our 55th Anniversary, six months before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. I viewed that as an opportunity to catch it and die, to go be with Betsy, so had done absolutely nothing to the house and yard in over two years since her death.  Bruce advised me to go with a “Buy-As-Is” approach, and we signed an agreement for representation Tuesday morning. He e-mailed me Thursday morning that he was showing it to a couple at 5:30 that afternoon.  Monday morning he called to say that he had an offer, so I met him early Tuesday.  The couple had offered less than we had listed it for, but three other people had contacted him over the weekend to say they were interested in looking at Brownspur.  What did I want to do? "Let’s make them a counter-offer, halfway the difference,” I suggested.  He nodded and dialed where we stood in the parking lot of the Double Quik gas station in Leland. He never got off the phone: “They took it,” he exclaimed! I had no idea how much paperwork was involved by so many parties from North Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee, to Leland, Greenwood, Cleveland, Brownspur, to Sumner where I now live, re-married to Cindy, Betsy’s former Ole Miss roommate.  Bruce took care of dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s, thank the Lord. We closed on August 24th. What a fantastic experience it was, selling my home on the plantation I’d grown up on for 77 years, through my Realtor and Friend, Bruce West!Robert N.
