Testimonials

“We have utilized Tom Smith Land and Homes to sell and buy homes and property. From the onset they went to work for us using professionalism, knowledge and common sense communication. There is no question of their dedication to our best interest. They were 100% transparent through the entire process. We felt like we were part of a team rather than just a client. Would we use them again - YES. Do we recommend Tom and Ellen Smith-Positively.” Bob & Joyce S. “We just wanted to thank Ellen Smith for going absolutely above and beyond for us during the sale of our home.  We have never experienced finer service from a real estate agency.  Ellen is the best and we would highly recommend her to anyone we know in the area – buying or selling a home or property.  Thank you for all you did for our family, both professionally and personally.  We will never forget you and your kindness.  Until we see you again, much love.” The Davis Family “The morning of July 2nd, 2021, was when I saw a Facebook post by Bruce West, whom I had known for many years and worked with in the Emmaus Walk Ministry, saying that he had changed careers, was now a Realtor, and if anyone needed to buy or sell property, he’d be glad to talk to them about representation. I texted him that I was indeed interested in selling my home at Brownspur.  Bruce and Gwendolyn lived about ten miles south of me in Hollandale, just down the street from my brother Beau. He called back that afternoon and made an appointment to come by Monday to look at my homestead, which consisted of a big two-story 1898 Plantation Home, with nearly 6000 sq. ft. under roof and an 1800 sq. ft. guest house connected by a covered walkway, all on six acres, including an old-fashioned sand-bottomed Swimming Hole with a shooting range behind it. Betsy and I had listed Brownspur several times in the past few years after all our kids got out from underfoot, intending to move to smaller quarters in our Golden Years, but had never gotten a serious offer.  She had passed away suddenly the week after our 55th Anniversary, six months before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. I viewed that as an opportunity to catch it and die, to go be with Betsy, so had done absolutely nothing to the house and yard in over two years since her death.  Bruce advised me to go with a “Buy-As-Is” approach, and we signed an agreement for representation Tuesday morning. He e-mailed me Thursday morning that he was showing it to a couple at 5:30 that afternoon.  Monday morning he called to say that he had an offer, so I met him early Tuesday.  The couple had offered less than we had listed it for, but three other people had contacted him over the weekend to say they were interested in looking at Brownspur.  What did I want to do? "Let’s make them a counter-offer, halfway the difference,” I suggested.  He nodded and dialed where we stood in the parking lot of the Double Quik gas station in Leland. He never got off the phone: “They took it,” he exclaimed! I had no idea how much paperwork was involved by so many parties from North Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee, to Leland, Greenwood, Cleveland, Brownspur, to Sumner where I now live, re-married to Cindy, Betsy’s former Ole Miss roommate.  Bruce took care of dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s, thank the Lord. We closed on August 24th. What a fantastic experience it was, selling my home on the plantation I’d grown up on for 77 years, through my Realtor and Friend, Bruce West!Robert N. “I loooooved working with David Belden❤! My time sensitive relocation to Mississippi and securing my dream home could not have been a “Mission Accomplished” without David Belden. Within JUST 3 WEEKS David assisted me with my home buying process from my initial call to inquire about my home, my flight into the city to view my home and allowing me access to meet contractors and daydream to ensure that I was sure the home I selected was the ONE for me! I love that he helped me with the emotional toll of buying a home in a rural area and living out of state during this process: Every time I would have little anxiety attacks, David always remained calm and had a solution for me and the right words to calm me down. He was soooo patient and professional. I really appreciated how David went above and beyond when advising me of alternatives and options I could adjust to based on the retail and grocery shopping landscapes and adapting from a big city to small town culture (nearest Aldi 2 hours away). Once I confirmed that I was ready to make an offer, David turned into a fierce strategist and secured my place within 4 days from the initial offer to the final agreement in which I was very pleased and satisfied! David is just AMAZING! Another huge perk about David is that he selected a seasoned real estate lawyer who knows the field extremely well. I consider myself extremely lucky and blessed to have had David as my Realtor! I would rate David higher than 10 if I could! I will eternally be grateful that David Belden helped me secure my beautiful home. I will definitely recommend him and if I were to purchase a home in the future, he will certainly be my real estate agent. Thank you DAVID for "BEING IN YOUR PURPOSE!"” Kim M.

Dear Mr. Smith, Recently I contacted your office concerning one of your listings. I was directed to Sam Sample. Sam and I arranged to meet and we looked at several properties. Unfortunately, I purchased a track not listed by your company. Sam was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He is a credit to your company. If I or someone I know looks for property again, I will contact Sam. Truly yours,

R.Z.
