Testimonials

When my wife and I decided that we wanted to put some funds into non-paper assets, we decided on timber land. We contacted Tom Smith and met with him one evening. We knew nothing about this kind of investment and Tom patiently explained the ins and outs and how this sort of thing worked. We discussed our desires and Tom translated those into a specific type of property that we should be looking for, considering our budget. Because of our ages, we needed to find something that would be harvestable in a relatively short time. One thing you find out pretty quickly is that someone is willing to sell you a piece of timberland every hour of every day. If an agent or even an acquaintance finds out that you want timber, they will have something for you to go look at the next day. People kept asking me why I had not bought anything yet. They seemed to think it was like buying a car. You just go pick out what you want. Tom weeded out properties that did not fit our goals. We kissed a lot of frogs as we looked at different properties. They looked better on paper than they did in person. Eventually we found exactly the right piece at exactly the right price. There were a number of unforeseen difficulties in closing the deal, but Tom was right there every step of the way during the negotiating process and, with his help, we closed on the perfect investment. We could not be happier. The next time we want to buy or sell some property, Tom will be our man.

I searched the state of Mississippi for 10 years trying to find the perfect tract of land that would fit my families needs. Each tract I looked at there was something that didn't fit. I contacted Tom Smith. I explained to him what we were looking for and he smiled and said I'll find it. He changed the subject and asked me about my family, we talked about his family, we talked about hunting, business and several other things over the next hour. I was thinking he must not be very busy to take this much time with me. (Little did I know he sold more land in Ms. than anybody else) before we left I looked at Tom and said 'don't forget what I'm looking for' he laughed and said 'I will find it'. About a month later my wife and I met Tom to look at a tract of land. We loved what he had found. We looked at it several times before making an offer. Our offer was accepted and we finally found our perfect place. I told this story to let people that might read it to understand the attention that Tom pays to find you what your looking for and to emphasize Toms personable demeanor. After a year had passed my wife and I decided to build a home on our new land. Again we contacted Tom Smith Land and Homes. Tom and his wife Ellen came over to our house and we discussed the selling our home. They looked around took several pictures and then sat down on front porch and we visited. Tom and Ellen are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. It took 10 months to build our new home, I called Tom in month 8 of our construction and was ready to list our older home. Tom and Ellen took over and sold our home within 6 weeks. The staff at their office was very professional and friendly, and our closing was perfect. My wife and I not only would highly recommend Tom Smith for your land needs and home needs but consider Tom and Ellen friends. Our experience of buying and selling real-estate was a great one thanks to Tom Smith.

“We chose Tom Smith Land and Homes because we saw how well they marketed other properties. David Belden and Dale Wilds exceeded our expectation at every step of the process. They advised us on each step and were willing to help us achieve the goals to help sale. The marketing and pictures were wonderful and helped sale the property quickly. We would recommend their team to anyone selling property. We were very happy and pleased with David, Dale and Tom Smith Land!” John W. “Thank you, Sam, for all your help throughout this process. You stayed persistent and knowledgeable during the entire duration of the listing and sell. We couldn’t have done it without you. I’ll be recommending you to my friends.” Tyler W. “Having had the recent pleasure of selling my land and old farmhouse through your agency, I would like to give a special compliment to Bill Patrick, my realtor.  The selling process was admittedly a bit arduous, and, despite disagreements between my sister and myself, Bill remained a calm and neutral party who tried to accommodate us both while juggling negotiations with multiple potential buyers. He provided us with much of his time, not to mention sharing his extensive knowledge of the business, which we put to the test. I know he must have felt frustrations of his own, but he upheld his professionalism under pressure, and this left a positive impression on me which I wanted to impart to you. I have since recommended him and your agency to more than one acquaintance searching for a realtor. I would like to add another special “thank you” to you, Tom, for your extra efforts to provide me with an informed selling experience when difficult situations arose outside of Bill’s areas of expertise, and I felt uncertain about my options. You made me feel like my concerns were important to you personally, and from that I was able to proceed feeling supported when confidence in my decisions was lacking.” Christie J.
