Testimonials

“The morning of July 2nd, 2021, was when I saw a Facebook post by Bruce West, whom I had known for many years and worked with in the Emmaus Walk Ministry, saying that he had changed careers, was now a Realtor, and if anyone needed to buy or sell property, he’d be glad to talk to them about representation. I texted him that I was indeed interested in selling my home at Brownspur.  Bruce and Gwendolyn lived about ten miles south of me in Hollandale, just down the street from my brother Beau. He called back that afternoon and made an appointment to come by Monday to look at my homestead, which consisted of a big two-story 1898 Plantation Home, with nearly 6000 sq. ft. under roof and an 1800 sq. ft. guest house connected by a covered walkway, all on six acres, including an old-fashioned sand-bottomed Swimming Hole with a shooting range behind it. Betsy and I had listed Brownspur several times in the past few years after all our kids got out from underfoot, intending to move to smaller quarters in our Golden Years, but had never gotten a serious offer.  She had passed away suddenly the week after our 55th Anniversary, six months before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. I viewed that as an opportunity to catch it and die, to go be with Betsy, so had done absolutely nothing to the house and yard in over two years since her death.  Bruce advised me to go with a “Buy-As-Is” approach, and we signed an agreement for representation Tuesday morning. He e-mailed me Thursday morning that he was showing it to a couple at 5:30 that afternoon.  Monday morning he called to say that he had an offer, so I met him early Tuesday.  The couple had offered less than we had listed it for, but three other people had contacted him over the weekend to say they were interested in looking at Brownspur.  What did I want to do? "Let’s make them a counter-offer, halfway the difference,” I suggested.  He nodded and dialed where we stood in the parking lot of the Double Quik gas station in Leland. He never got off the phone: “They took it,” he exclaimed! I had no idea how much paperwork was involved by so many parties from North Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee, to Leland, Greenwood, Cleveland, Brownspur, to Sumner where I now live, re-married to Cindy, Betsy’s former Ole Miss roommate.  Bruce took care of dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s, thank the Lord. We closed on August 24th. What a fantastic experience it was, selling my home on the plantation I’d grown up on for 77 years, through my Realtor and Friend, Bruce West!Robert N. “Those who are closest to me knew that Hugh and I found a house and our offer had been accepted, and we were in the beginning stage of buying our first home together when he went to heaven.  I was at such a loss not knowing whether to move forward or just back out, so I prayed for God to give me wisdom and clarity.  I can't say that I felt at peace about it, but what I did know is that if it wasn't God's will for me, he wouldn't let it happen.  I lived in an obstacle course of boxes for over two months.  Yesterday I closed on the house by myself.  It was bittersweet without Hugh, but I know in my heart he was smiling big.  I can't end this without mentioning my amazing realtor, Tracey Bell at Tom Smith Land and Homes.  She knew I was struggling with a new normal and she was patient and available for whatever I needed.  Tracey stopped by and brought me a housewarming plant today and she reminded me that I would always have the memory of Hugh and I picking out this house together.  I have so many projects/plans that I'm looking forward to doing on the house as I start this new chapter of my life.” Wendy B. “My wife and I recently sold and bought a home using David Belden. He easily found the perfect area and home for us in a great neighborhood. He also guided us on the sale of our old home. We had several showings scheduled for the morning our house landed on the market, and an offer at the end of the day that we accepted. David went over and above when some bumps in the road came up during the closing of our old home. He kept us in the loop nearly everyday and even secured additional earnings on our home after several delays in closing from the buyers. He was always available for questions and quickly found answers for aspects when he was uncertain. We would highly recommend David to our family and friends in the future!” The Princiotta's “I recently saw a beautiful featured property on the Land Man's website. I called to inquire and Tom answered. He immediately scheduled a showing. He spent an entire afternoon showing me that property and another in close proximity. He worked diligently to help both buyer and seller reach an agreement that pleased everyone. The transaction was seamless and went off without a glitch. Tom did a superb job of helping me find the piece of property I was looking for. I didn't expect to find such a great friend in the process. I would highly recommend Tom Smith to anyone looking to buy or sell!  Thank you, Tom!” Phil Hanberry

I am pleased and honored to share my experience with Tom Smith Land and Homes. If you feel the time is right to sell your 'piece of heaven' call Tom Smith. Period. After enjoying our property in Holmes County for 18 years, the time had come to move in another direction. I contacted friends who all recommended Tom for the job. I called Tom about listing my property. He met me on site and came prepared to take photos and notes. Tom and I talked candidly about values. I like that. He was honest and straightforward. Within 2 weeks, my property was featured on his email blast. When I received his email blast, I called him and said my place looked so good, I didn't want to sell it anymore. Selling your place can be a difficult decision. Tom understands the connection we make to our property. I had an offer to purchase within 3 weeks of listing the property with Tom. It became apparent to me that Tom has a list of buyers looking for property. He knows how to get it done and sell your property fast. Speaking of fast. Tom introduced the buyers to me and today, we have a great relationship. I am so pleased to know that the new owners of my 'piece of heaven' are enjoying it as much as I did and are providing stewardship the property deserves. Tom sold my property so fast, I asked the new owners if I could plant their food plots for the fall hunting season as I had already purchased the seed and was not expecting the sale so quickly. The bottom line? When Robert and Rebecca Watson have property to sell, there will be only one person I call and it's Tom Smith. I highly recommend Tom Smith to sell or purchase property anywhere in Mississippi. As I write this, Tom has me on the buyers list looking for my next project. Call Tom Smith, you won't regret it.
