Mike is a lifelong resident of Madison County where he was born and raised in Flora, Mississippi and attended Tri-County Academy. After graduation, he attended Mississippi State University where he studied Animal Science. He later attended and graduated from Belhaven College with a bachelor’s degree in business. Mike’s sales career began in the construction equipment industry with Ditch Witch, selling trenching and underground equipment. He then spent the better part of 25 years in the construction and agricultural industries where he worked as a territory manager, regional manager, sales manager, and location manager with major equipment manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, John Deere, and Caterpillar. During this time, Mike learned the importance of customer care and always putting the customer first.
After many years on the road, Mike had a strong desire to find a career that would allow him to enjoy more time at home with his family and would better fit his active lifestyle. Mike’s love for land developed at an early age while working on his family’s farm. His passion for hunting and the outdoors drew him to a career in real estate. Mike is married to Christy McMillan Odom, who has also been involved in real estate for many years as a real estate paralegal. They reside near Madison, MS and have three children, Mary Blair, Brady, and Meredith. They enjoy family vacations at the beach, cooking on their back porch, working around their house, and weekends at their family farm in Attala County, MS. Mike has also coached travel softball for over 15 years at a competitive level and is currently coaching with the Hotshots organization based out of Conroe, TX.
