Leland’s deep-rooted love for the outdoors led him to Tom Smith Land and Homes. Growing up in Leland, MS and now residing in Starkville, Mississippi, Leland’s passion for hunting and fishing remains strong. After Graduating from Indianola Academy in 2022, Leland is pursuing a Business Finance degree at Mississippi State University. His interest in real estate blossomed during a summer working at Tom Smith Land and Homes as an office assistant. Known for his honesty and strong work ethic, Leland ensures clients a positive real estate experience. Tyler Kilgore

Tyler was born and raised in Philadelphia, MS. He currently resides in Nanih Waiya with his wife Hayden and their son William.

He has owned and operated East Mississippi Land Management, LLC since 2018. He has specialized in managing farm land and wildlife management.

Tyler has a love for land. It doesn’t matter if it’s hunting, at the river, or running a forestry mulcher to improve land quality. Jami Pruitt

Jami Pruitt grew up and was homeschooled in Stewart, MS and currently resides in Eupora. After a start in forestry classes, Jami ended up in business, earning her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2021 from Belhaven University. Jami is married to Ryan Pruitt, an EMT in Eupora. Jami and Ryan spend time outdoors gardening, hobby farming, and being with family. While working at a car dealership, Jami found a passion in connecting customers with the right product and is excited to continue creating a great experience for each Tom Smith Land & Homes customer!


Walker Tranum

Walker was drawn to Tom Smith Land and Homes due to his love of the outdoors. Walker grew up in Starkville and has always lived in Sturgis, Mississippi. Walker has always enjoyed hunting and fishing since the day his father introduced him to the outdoors. Walker attended Starkville Academy and graduated in 2019. Walker also graduated from Mississippi State University in 2022, where he majored in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. Walker has worked for a private contractor building homes which piqued his interest in the real estate business. Walker currently lives in Oktibbeha County, where he continues his passion for hunting, fishing, and small building projects. When working with Walker, honesty and unmatched work ethic are what you will find from the first meeting to the last. He is determined to make sure your time, either buying or selling, is the best it can be. Walker’s honesty, work ethic, and determination will help you in all your real estate experiences.


Doyes Holland

Doyes was born and raised in Hamilton, Alabama. He obtained a B.S. in Forestry from Mississippi State University in 1975. Ten years later, he completed a Master of Forestry with emphasis in forest taxation also from Mississippi State. Doyes’ forestry career began in 1977 and continued for 40+ years, with much of his career with Weyerhaeuser Company as a Timber Buyer, Road Manager and lastly as Harvest Planner until his retirement in 2018.

Doyes and his wife Kay are long time residents of Starkville and avid MSU Bulldog fans. They have attended New Covenant Church for more than 40 years with their three children.  They currently own and operate Bops Frozen Custard in Starkville. For many years, Doyes had a small beef cattle operation in the Bell School House community where his children learned a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors. When not at work, you may find Doyes at his tree farm in Choctaw County working on food plots or at the family’s lake house on Smith Lake in Arley, Alabama. Tom Wiseman

Tom has lived in New Albany all his life. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1985 with a BS in Forestry and is a Registered Forester and Certified General Appraiser. He retired from the Right of Way Division of the Mississippi Department of Transportation in 2014 with 29 years as a staff appraiser, review appraiser, and forester.

Tom and his wife, Veronica, are active within The First Baptist Church New Albany. Tom is an avid outdoorsman and is involved with the Trail Life USA Troop MS-356. His outdoor activities also include hunting, fishing, bicycling, and golf. With a passion for the outdoors and being raised on the land, he is the perfect choice to assist you in finding the ideal place for your family’s next home or tract of land.


Michael Halfacre

Michael graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Forestry in 1983. Since that time he has enjoyed a career as a Registered Forester, and a Real Estate Broker in Mississippi since 1986. He held a license as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Mississippi for a portion of that time. He has assisted private landowners in timber, farm and wildlife land management and sales for over thirty years. He has served as President of Halfacre Consulting Inc. working out of Louisville, Mississippi.

His passion is developing long-term relationships with landowners built on a high level of trust and integrity. Many of his management clients have enjoyed his services for over 25 years.

He has experienced an increase in demand for assistance in locating, evaluating and acquiring timber and recreational properties over the last 10 years. Changes in markets have demanded the necessity of careful evaluation and resulted in a greater number of landowners and investors needing a knowledgeable, reputable partner. He actively serves as an Agent for buyers desiring to purchase properties and as an Agent for Owners in liquidating properties. A considerable amount of his time is spent with landowners looking at property and discussing current timber market conditions, analyzing investment potential and determining management alternatives for his clients. He has taught a number of forest management and timber appraisal classes for private landowners, financial institutions and other Real Estate professionals.
