A great love of the outdoors brought Michael to Tom Smith. Michael has been an avid outdoorsman and sportsman since childhood. At Mississippi State University, Michael pursued his interests of land management and animal science by earning a degree in Biological Sciences.

After graduation, Michael began working for the United States Forest Service maintaining National Forests. He has also served as a Wildland firefighter in the western United States and Alaska. Michael and his wife, Lauren Ann, also own a retail store, LA Green, in downtown Starkville, MS. With Michael’s combined land education and business background, he is ready to help you with all your land and home needs.

Originally from Ackerman, MS, Michael and his wife currently reside in Starkville, MS with their sons, Rhett and Westin. He and his family are members of Starkville First Baptist Church, where he and his wife serve as Sunday School teachers. Michael also enjoys fishing, hunting, and small craftsman projects.
