After graduating High School in West Feliciana Parish in Louisiana, Preston moved to Summit, MS to attend Southwest Community College. Preston then began a career in Law Enforcement. After 20+ years of Law Enforcement Preston had attained the Rank of Major over the Internal Investigations Unit for the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Preston’s new career path has led him to Real Estate with Tom Smith Land and Homes. Preston is a lifelong avid outdoorsman with a passion for duck and deer hunting and feels that a lifetime spent in the outdoors and a passion for helping others will suit him well in his new endeavors.

Preston along with his wife Tara, raise their two children, Travis-18 and Prestley-16, in Madison county. Both Travis and Prestley play sports and attend Canton Academy where Preston and Tara are very involved with many of the school’s activities.
